For decent dryliners in London I am seeing £230-£260 a day depending on hours and parking. Anyone trying to buy competent labour at 2024 rates is either getting lucky or getting problems.
Chippy rates outside London are not moving much either, but the hidden costs are. Fuel, blades, fixings, parking, even breakfast. If they want fixed 2024 labour, make sure every extra is priced properly.
Separate labour rate from prelims and attendance. A low day rate with no allowance for parking, congestion, restricted unloading and out-of-hours deliveries is where margins disappear.
That is helpful. I had £245 in mind for the dryliners and thought I was being greedy. Sounds like the issue is the MC trying it on rather than my number.
