At 18 months you're still developing the feel for combining slew speed with bucket curl. The drift you're feeling is probably you rushing the slew and then correcting too hard. Slow the slew right down on approach to the skip until you're more confident, then build speed back up. Precision first, speed comes after.
Also check your seat position and joystick sensitivity settings. Some operators run them on a high sensitivity setting and it makes fine control harder. Ask the fitter to pull up the machine menu and drop the sensitivity down one notch and see if it helps.
Did the ram test and it was definitely drifting. Fitter had a look and confirmed seal's on the way out. Machine's going in for service next week. Cheers lads.
Could be bucket ram seals starting to go if it's drifting under load. Get the fitter to check the hydraulic seals before you assume it's technique. Worth doing a quick test: hold the bucket fully curled and see if it creeps open over 30 seconds with the machine idling.
